I’m Madelyn Whitesel, the face behind of Mad Media.

In this post I want to share the story behind why I started this company and how my journey can inspire those looking to make their own mark in the digital world.

The Muse

My passion for marketing and design didn’t just appear overnight. It has been a growing flame, fueled by years of trying to create the perfect aesthetic and helping friends and family with their small businesses social media visions.

Before Mad Media, I worked in a variety of jobs—including receptionist, barista, bartender, intern and social media gal. This diverse experience taught me the power of effective marketing and the profound impact it can have on a business.

Insights Along the Way

My first business The Monarch Mobile Beverage Service, a private event bartending service that my mom and I started in 2020 taught me a lot about the importance of effective marketing. Marketing this business on social media, I learned firsthand the crucial role of strategic digital marketing and word-of-mouth communication in building a brand’s reputation and customer base. The success of The Monarch was significantly driven by engaging online content, the strong relationships forged through social media interactions and of course trendy TikTok videos. This experience was instrumental in shaping my understanding of digital marketing’s power and led to the founding of Mad Media.

During my last semester of college, I interned at a renowned business coaching company in downtown Boise. It was during this transformative four-month period that I decided to take my skills to the next level. Under the mentorship of an amazing business coach, I observed many business owners who were not underutilizing social media and missing out on the opportunity to build vibrant online communities for their target audiences. This experience, coupled with the extensive networking I did on LinkedIn, taught me the indispensable value of digital connections in today's business landscape.

As a social media manager, my primary focus is not solely on generating immediate sales, but rather on establishing a consistent and engaging online presence that truly reflects your brand's values and identity.

I aim to create tailored content that resonates with your target audience, fostering a community around your brand. By maintaining regular posting schedules and actively engaging with your followers, I help build trust and loyalty over time.

Ultimately, my goal is to craft a cohesive online experience that not only enhances your brand's visibility but also cultivates long-term relationships with your audience.

I believe in building relationships. Each project is a partnership, and every client’s success is a testament to our collaborative approach. Starting this company was not just about offering services; it was about creating a community where businesses could feel supported in their marketing efforts.
